Yours Should be a Heavy Casket

about

very dramatic piece this one, contrasting with the overarching theme of the recording which is regulation of emotions. notes and overall ambience remind me of darkthrone 1994. I would point out “Graven tåkeheimens saler” especially. “Nocternal Obeisance” also lingers on my mind. After recording this I found out about “Never Go To War” by Japanese noise-core band Tranquilizer and the similarities cannot be denied!

For a long time, the plan was to have only electric guitars and vocals. A renewed interest in country music made me rethink my approach. It went from being minimal to become “more is more”. I actually think the end result is quite good and refreshing. Could imagine myself creating an entire album around these concepts. Lyrics should be interpreted as being about staying true to good metal.

lyrics

No!
Don’t pray at those new altars
Half carved into the rock
That old rivers cut free
As do we

We will not falter
We will not change
Only you are now missing
Nothing here is strange
Nothing!
But your own mind

Yours should be a heavy casket
