Ballads are tricky business and often make me feel real uncomfortable. I have nothing against them in principle obviously. But in the context of metal it’s a hard thing to pull off successfully. So I kinda made two haha

lyrical themes: Love

lyrics

She stood and called for me
Screaming, restless
And all the while I looked the other way

What’s it all for?
Just another grain of sand
That we’d carry around
Like a grave with nowhere to stand
The devil was there too
Guess he wanted me to stay
Some days don’t mess around
At night I miss the day

And then I ran away

The mountains flatten for me
Rivers run dry
Behind me dust trails
Reach up to the sky
But hidin’ in the breeze
There lied the sweetest cry
It’s only dying down
In the sweet by and by

I suppose I can’t just say goodbye
Nor shall I
